in Virginia’s Northern Neck and offer weekly box subscriptions to eat healthy every day of the week!
Pleitez Produce is a family owned farm in the heart of King George County, Virginia. Established in 2002, it is run by Alex and Astrid Pleitez with help from their children Joana, Gabriela, Maria Osiel and Samuel.
With 100+ acres of cultivated land they have a dazzling array of fresh local produce from A to Z, Asparagus to Zucchini. They also have cut herbs, vegetable start, figs & small berries which include: strawberries, raspberries, black raspberries and blackberries.
By utilizing their 13 greenhouses they are able to get an early start as well as late production, thus extending their growing season. While not certified organic they do use a Virginia Cooperative Extension agent to help with pest management, drip irrigation, and avoid using both GMOs and GES. They also accept Maryland and DC WIC and are registered to accept VA Senior Checks. They also accept Produce Plus. They offer seasonal subscriptions so a consumer has the option to have fresh produce and herbs every week. Alex and Astrid also believe in giving back to the community and work with churches and food pantries.
